Are you holding a grudge? Perhaps you’ve been hurt and just can’t ignore your need to lay blame? This week’s Transformation Tuesday Affirmation is “I embrace forgiveness and now move forward on my path.”

Why should you forgive?

Holding on to anger is like keeping poison in our hearts.

Maybe you’ve heard the quote from Buddha, “Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” The saying is timeless because it holds the truth. Anger and resentment only harm the person who holds onto it. The good news is, you have the power to forgive and release these emotions that no longer serve you.

Lack of forgiveness holds us back from forward progress.

The hurt we’ve been through, no matter how difficult, is a big part of the life lessons we are here to experience. We cannot heal until we learn how to really let go of resentment, guilt, fear, and other unhealthy emotions.

Nobody said it was easy…

Still, we’re all only human, right? Forgiving someone who has really hurt you is difficult and takes time. Give yourself a break and know that there is no right or wrong way.
