My 4 favorite books on the Law of Attraction

My 4 favorite books on the Law of Attraction

Early on in my spiritual development, I became enthralled with the Law of Attraction. My go-to learning tool is always going to be books. But there are probably thousands of titles out there on the subject! It can certainly be overwhelming for anyone who is new to the idea.

Whether you’re just getting started with your manifesting practice or you’re looking for suggestions on how to improve, check out this list of my favorites.

My 4 favorite books on the Law of Attraction

I love them all so much, it would be impossible to rank them. Therefore, they are in no particular order.

The Power of Intention: Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way - Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

The Power of Intention: Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

As I’ve noted in several of my posts, intention is the most powerful tool you have when it comes to implementing the Law of Attraction. In order to manifest what you want, it is vital to set your intention in order for the Universe to know what your end goal is.

This book isn’t just about controlling your thoughts however, it goes much deeper than that.

In The Power of Intention, Dr. Dyer may help the reader to attract something they want such as a promotion or a new home, but he goes way beyond that. He gives the reader viable tools to attract a better life. A more fulfilling, spiritually-driven existence.

If you’re looking to learn how to manifest something more meaningful for your life, this title is a great place to begin your quest.

Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life - Shakti Gawain

Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life – Shakti Gawain

In this book, Gawain leads the reader through the process of creative visualization, using imagery and affirmations to bring about what you want your future to look like. Both of these tools are extremely powerful for manifesting.

As a Certified Hypnosis Practitioner, I found that so much of what Gawain wrote is parallel to what I do in my practice. Since reading it, I have recommended the book to several of my clients, and have implemented many of her exercises in my work.

Whether you are looking to improve your performance at the office, manifest money and wealth, manage stress and anxiety, or improve your life in any way, the techniques in Creative Visualization will help you overcome fears and reach your goals.

The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear and Take Life to the Next Level - Gay Hendricks

Limiting beliefs are the killers of manifesting. In this book, Hendricks covers how to recognize when you’re blocking your own success with self-sabotage. Once you see it, you can then use his method of combating your “Upper Limit Problem” to reach beyond your limitations.

My good friend April recommended this book to me a few months back, but I hadn’t gotten around to reading it straightaway. One day I was in my car, appreciating how nice it was. What great weather we were having! What an amazing life I was leading! Then lo and behold, I hit something in the road that resulted in $350+ in car repairs!

I was telling April all about my woes, and she said “Sounds like maybe an Upper Limit Problem.”

Not having read the book yet, I denied her theory. “No, that couldn’t be, I really don’t have any problems with limiting beliefs.”

Then I read the book. Guess what? I had an Upper Limit Problem!

Fortunately, I now know how to combat this when it arises, thanks to Gay Hendricks and my dear friend April.

Ask and it is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires – Esther and Jerry Hicks

Ask and it is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires – Esther and Jerry Hicks

Published in 2004, this title is widely considered to be the leading book on the subject of manifesting. If you must only choose one of these books on the Law of Attraction, Ask and It Is Given is the one to grab.

The first part of the book develops the premise of the Law of Attraction, explaining how the overall concept works. It goes into how to keep your vibration high so that the Universe can send you what you’re manifesting.

But what’s really amazing about this book is the second half, which has various “processes”. These are activities and exercises that will help you attract your desires.

My favorite example is #8, the Book of Positive Aspects. In this process, you use a notebook to write down all of (and only) the positive aspects of something. You can pick anything – a houseplant, grandma’s Christmas cookies, or your job.

It’s extremely challenging to find positive aspects of “negative” things in your life, but that’s where the healing starts. My own emotional healing really took an upturn when I opted to list the positive aspects of my ex-husband. Believe it or not I filled the paper, and was able to get into a much more positive mindset.
