2020 was the Tower, the most dreaded of all Tarot cards

2020 was the Tower, the most dreaded of all Tarot cards

2020 was the Tower card. You didn’t see it coming, and it’s really always unwelcome. The most dreaded of all Tarot cards, in fact.

This year, the Universe hit us with something we weren’t really expecting and it most certainly turned our lives upside down. It transformed us. It completely changed the way we do so many previously-mindless things, many of which will never go back to “the way they were”.

If you’ve ever had a Tarot reading, you probably know that the Tower is not often a welcome card. However, it is sent to us when it is time to make much-needed major changes in our lives. But it’s not just about that. The Tower also gives us an opportunity to find gratitude for the many wonderful things we do have.

I learned years ago how important it is to avoid wishing time away. Being mindful of, and savoring every sweet moment we have on Earth is so important. This really hit me hard when my kids started becoming adults and reality hit me like a slap in the face: I will never get their childhood back, so I better make the best of the time I have left.

Because of this, I never say things like “let’s get 2020 over with already!” Instead, I think it’s important to take the time that’s left to reflect upon the lessons we’ve learned and the wisdom we’ve acquired. For 2020, that could mean things like recognizing our ability to come together as a loving community and do good in the world.

2020 was the Tower

It’s time to ask these important questions:

  • What “good” has come out of this year for you?
  • After these trying experiences, what have you learned?
  • What positive things can you carry into the next year?

Good news! After the Tower comes the Star.

You can almost hear the angels singing… Aaaahhh aaaahhh! ♫♫ Like a beacon of divine light, the Star represents hope, humanity, knowledge, and the strength and wisdom we have gained from our recent trials. We are now able to recognize our resilience, fortitude, and the tremendous power we have within ourselves – individually and collectively.

Interestingly, the Star represents the zodiac sign of Aquarius, which the sun moves into on January 19th. I take this as extra emphasis that the beginning 2021 will be a welcome transition – our chance to really shine! It’s going to be a time to take all those difficult lessons we have learned, all the wisdom that has come out of the trying 2020 experience, and transform it into the most positive energy and efforts. 2021 will likely be a VERY important time for sharing our individual knowledge so that all can benefit.

Karma and I wish you all a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2021!
