A redux of last month’s new moon in Cancer… but not really
This month we have our second New Moon in Cancer in a row – but that doesn’t mean that the exact same things apply. Last month’s New Moon was an eclipse, so it was more apt to bring out things that were hidden, our shadow selves. This month, it’s time to turn our focus outward, specifically to our relationships with others.
Cancer is known for being a loyal friend and partner. This may be a time when we are tested in our closest relationships, so it’s important to reflect on them and do a loyalty-check from both sides.
First, take a moment to think about the primary relationships in your life, one by one. Then ask yourself: Are you putting your own self-interests first? That is not to say that it is wrong to do so. It’s just time to take a good look at the situation and really see if this is justified or not. If you find that you are being a little selfish, this is the time to shift your thinking and take action before serious damage is done.
It’s also time to assess the loyalty of your friends and partner. Are their interests in the right place? Has the relationship been too one-sided? Do they really have your back when you need it? Your answers to these questions will tell you whether it’s time to step back and take a break, or maybe release them altogether.
For those relationships that “pass the loyalty test”, it’s time for you to do the real work. Go out of your way to show your friends and partner how much you appreciate them. Resolve to be a better friend and the payoff will be worth it.
